“The uncertainty looks like it will last for the foreseeable future. To deal with and conquer the fears, anxiety and stress, you will need to become resilient.”

Forbes, 2022

2022 was forecast to be the year of growth. Yet, we are going through time of flux; the geo-political situation in Eastern Europe is devastating – and set to spark repercussions throughout the world. In the past few weeks alone, gas prices have reached an all-time high and the cost of energy has soared by 54%, costing the UK economy billions of pounds [McKinsey, 2022]. In this era of uncertainty, it is crucial that leaders remain resilient and persevere through times of strife.

With the world around us continuing to complexify, senior executives are still required to make high stake decisions daily. Indeed, 65% of board level decisions are now more complicated than they were just two years ago [Gartner, 2022]. The two pillars of resilience are preparation, and flexibility; therefore, its essential leaders are adequately equipped with the data and analytics tools to facilitate quick decision making and remove uncertainty.

The next 12 months will be make or break, with only the most resilient and equipped leaders successfully guiding their organisation through this uncertainty. As a senior executive, how will you ensure you have the tools, strategy, and team buy-in to come out on top?

SPEAKER

Ollie Ollerton’s military career started with the Royal Marine Commandos, and later after completing the arduous 6-month special forces section course, joined the SBS (Special Boat Service), where Ollie faced some of his greatest challenges. From counter-narcotics to hostage rescue, his mind and body were pushed to the very limits of human ability.

Having shot to fame on Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins, Ollie is well-loved for his no-nonsense yet empathetic personality. Ollie believes that goal setting and persistence is the key to success in private and professional worlds, so uses his experience to inspire tenacious determination and effective planning for his motivational speaking engagements.
