“Saying farewell is also a bold and powerful beginning

Aron Ralston, 127 Hours

When you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place, your options are drastically limited. What happened to Aron Ralston is this idiom turned into real life. When he found himself stuck between a rock and canyon wall, it led to a terrifying rollercoaster of a journey that was later captured by Danny Boyle in the film 127 Hours. There were some truly difficult decisions for Aron, one in particular. We’re delighted he’s joining us to share his experience and also talk about his journey afterwards, when he decided to not only survive, but to thrive.

Every business has had to face its own 127 Hours; the pandemic forced us to make decisions to survive. But now the focus is on thriving. In fact,  79% of senior executives believe the pandemic has opened up the greatest opportunity for growth they’ve ever seen [McKinsey 2020]. After this tough period, how do you galvanise your team to capitalise on the opportunities ahead? How do you enable your team to continue to operate with the same clarity and decisiveness? How do you motivate them to Thrive As One?

Join us as we explore these topics with Aron and draw parallels from his extraordinary story to the business world we operate in. Speed and intelligence will be paramount in the recovery. And so are people. Join us to explore how you can lead your team through the next phase of the recovery and Thrive! in 2021.

SPEAKER

Aron Ralston’s extraordinary story of survival after an 800-pound boulder trapped him in a remote Utah canyon captured global headlines in 2003. In his New York Times best seller, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, the Oscar-nominated film, 127 Hours, and on stage, Ralston takes audiences vicariously through those six days without water, means of communication, or hope of escape, to the ecstatic moments when he freed himself by severing his arm.
